Grossly patent

What does Grossly Patent mean in an MRI Report?

The line states “…the major arterial and venous flow voids are grossly patent” What does that mean?

In general, it means the organ or tissue in question maintains normal function or opening. Blood vessels, gut, urethers, urethras will in general be described as “grossly patent” if they all maintain their openings and their walls remain well.
