Grammatically correct: What place is this or Which place is this?
Both are grammatically correct, but they mean slightly different things. “What place is this?” is more of an open-ended inquiry, whereas “Which place is this?” denotes that there are only so many options – say three or four places – and it is expected that the answer will be one of that group.
